For the best possible results, your stomach must be completely empty before your procedure.

  • Medications: Bring an updated list of medications. Blood thinners (Coumadin, Plavix, Xarelto, etc.) must be stopped as advised by your doctor.
  • Day of exam: A nurse will review your medical history, confirm preparation, and obtain consent. IV access will be set before sedation.
  • After the procedure: You will recover for about 45 minutes. You cannot drive for 24 hours, so arrange for someone to take you home.
